NXT is a two piece ball. NXT Tour is a 3 piece ball that is "supposed" to generate more spin around the greens. I say "supposed" because most pros will say the average amateur does not have the skill necessary to generate that type of spin.

Poor mans alternative to the NXT is the Pinnacle Exception. Both manufactured by the same company

You can read the promos at Golfsmith or TGW

The 2007 and 2008 models are the same. Callaway sued Titleist/Acushnet for patent infringement or something along those lines and won its case so Titleist had to change the model for 2009.

I think you are looking at this the wrong way. The teacher will never play these balls anyway, they will be a memento in his house. So don't get the tour version of any of them. Just get the 2 piece ball from any of the manufacturers and save the money. If you really don't want to do that, get the Bridgestone ball. Titleist players tend to look down on Callaway

Staff bags are the HUGE bags that the pro's caddies carry around for them. They have all of their rain gear and misc. junk in there that the pro might need for a round.

Cart bags are larger bags that you usually wouldn't want to carry around if you were walking the course...hence the name. Most of the time the opening where you put the clubs will be about 8" in diameter on a cart bag.

Stand bags are smaller, lighter weight bags that have legs on them that fold out when you set the bag down. These are ideal if you like to walk the course. This is probably the most popular type of bag.

Hope that helps.

I have gone through this as well and let me tell you from experience that a Good PGA Qualified Instructor cannot be replaced by a " Training Aid " A qualified instructor can tell you exactly what you are doing wrong and begin to correct you right away , he can also tell you if you have the right clubs , have you been fitted for clubs ?? a qualified instructor can do all this for you , and yes it will cost you more in the long run but you will be all the happier and better appreciate this Great Game called Golf .

You and your Family Have a Great Christmas.

Thanks for your kind comments Advocate , its always nice to find someone who calls one names instead of producing facts , Great Job !!!! and by the way I have never seen or used a circular trainer , and a PGA instructor has taken me from a 15 Handicap to a single digit , but that's just me , even though you can only call one names I still wish you a Merry Christmas to you and your family as well , If your nice maybe Santa will bring you some Game !!

Oh besides the Pro V's. The next are the NXT and NXT Tour golf balls. They are called the Pro V1 junior for a good reason. They are Golf Digest's Hot List Editors Choice for Value Balls, (The Pro V's won for Tour Balls).
